Time. We all want it; it’s hard to get. How we get it, I don’t know. If you think that unemployed, self-employed and retrenched people have more time, you’ve never been there. As a full-time working mother I was like a chicken with my head cut off in the mornings. Now that I’m self-employed mother, I’m a blue-arse fly.
I had visions of perusing the paper over my cup of green tea and toast and settling down quietly for a musing or two or on the blog. Instead, I’m a train full-steam ahead blogging my little arse off before I fetch my child from pre-primary at 12 noon.

You want me to do what?
Time is elastic and once you have more of it, it fills up quickly with things you’d always wanted to do and a million errands to run your family needs done that fall on you (because you have the time after all). You’re also more in demand by your family, your friends and your child’s school.
Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t bitching (well, just a little). Being your boss beats being a salaried employee any day but … where did all the time go? … I got to go.
